Coach bags

I'm all for coach bags but my 13 and 10 year old neices are obsessed with having to have one if let's say they do good in school or for christmas or for whatever reason they have..i didn't start even noticing about coach bags until at least high school..what is happening here..they are going to need so much money to be satisfied once they get older!!!! just had to vent because my measly 50 dollar gift card isn't going to get them anything in coach except a keychainChat Icon

That is crazy... these are the same types of kids that expect a NEW first car, not a POS like most people I know were driving at 17.

Re: Coach bags

I HATE seeing little kids wearing the coach bags

thankfully most of them buy the little signature baggettes

when I was 16, I was obsessed with having Guess jeans. so I got a job and bought them myself. my mom was not about to plunk down $80-$100 on a pair of jeans for me (we’re talking mid 80’s here, that was A LOT of $). at the time I was pizzed. but I have to say...it makes you APPRECIATE things a LOT more when you have to work for the $ to pay for higher end items.

I agree...and it was the same for me except in the form of extra chores in the home ....

Re: Coach bags

I grew up real poor and right now my dh and I dont have any children together yet, so I have to admit that I actually boight a coach scribble bag for my step-daughter for christmas. She told me that a couple of people at school had them and she asked where they got it and they told her the flea mkt. Well, I couldnt do that to her (although I have no problems with knock-offs for myself) and I got her the real one.

When I was 10 all I wanted was one of those Jordasche pocketbooks. Anyone else remember those, circa 1982-83? I LOVED them.

I didn't own anything Coach till I was 30, but I bought it with my own money.

My first was a cranberry velvet one. I also had a white one, I think, in the faux leather. Chat Icon And a navy velvet one. I think I had one more, but can't remember the color.

I think they were about $5 at Tri-County Flea Market.

I also had a Gear bag- pink- some of my friends called them "herpes pocketbooks" Chat Icon

I can't believe I remember all this stuff.

Re: Coach bags

i know what your saying...my nieces are 13&11 and the wadrobe they have is so unnessesary.
every outfit is Juicy this, A&F, its all about keeping up with the other girls in there class, honestly I dont know how these moms afford it.

Now they showed me their Christmas List & Im like "come on now" LV bag, coach sneakers....there moms dont even have this stuff.
I say the same thing...they better do really really good in school so they can get good jobs to be able to keep up with living the finer life...
I blame the parents- by going out & buying them these things all the time, how the hell are they going to ever appreciate ANYTHING? I can see once in a blue moon, say for the birthday,ONE splurge, but now the kids just expect it& arent even that excited.

Honestly...makes me happy I have boys!!!
