Ski Ideas
DH and I are planning a mini-ski trip in the winter. It's probably just a day trip. Any ideas of where to go? TIA.

for a day trip - you can go to Hunter in Upstate, NY or Camelback or Shawnee PA. (probably about 2 hours from LI)

I've always enjoyed Jiminy Peak & Brodie Mtn. in Mass. Not your nearest skiing for a day trip but it's about a 4 hr. drive from LI.

Ive never been, so I dont know how good it is... but I know there are some places to ski in CT, which wouldn't br too far...maybe 2 hours...
Vermont would probably be too far for a day trip

vermont is definitely too far - mount snow is about 6 hours - and I think thats the closest one.
i think this is the closest in PA (right off of I-80 once you get into PA)

This is very close...good for a day trip.
However, everyone from the city that doesn't know how to ski is on this mountain. Which at times I found to be very dangerous.
But it's good for a day trip.
