Any good crock pot meat recipies?

I basically need a no fail recipie for a cooking idiot that's never even used her crockpot, but needs to make a holiday style meal for 8 people. I won't be home in the morning to really cook before people come over, so I thought the crockpot would be good to use, but I don't have any recipies for it. I'm looking for something like a roast, not chicken. Thanks and any pointers you could throw in would be great.

we do one... not sure if it would be quite enough for 8 people, but i guess you could just get a bigger pot roast than we do...
we get aboout a 3 pound pot roast (dh and i usually get 2 meals out of this).. we cut up a few carrots and potatoes and put them in the bottom of the crockpot. then, put the roast on top of them... dump in one packet of the dry onion soup mix and one can of cream of mushroom soup.... let it cook on low for about 8 hours and there ya go
i think you can pretty much use anything for seasonings- worchtershire, beef broth, etc.... it all comes out good, and you can always add salt and pepper when you serve it
