Hi I have 4 month old puppy--who is biting--its not just teething like everyone says--She goes after us, and she shows us her teeth-I hired a trainer but so far all he does is take her for walks-saying that I need to be the leader of the pack. we have tried EVERYTHING--I am so frustrated!!!! Any thoughts or suggestions??? I feel like crying!!! TIA!!!!

Re: Need help!!
My friend just hired a trainer for her puppy who was biting, leaving bruises on her!
The trainer recommended the coins in a can...she put 20 pennies in a soda can, and when the dog starts biting, she shakes it, and it startles him, and he stops.
The trainer told her also when he starts biting to say NO in a very high pitched voice, and it should startle him, and it has worked for her.
Good luck!

Re: Need help!!
I would get another trainer.
Also, you have to be patient and give things time to work.

Ditto. Also, feed your dog after everyone else is done eating. it is small & may seem unrelated, but it will help you establish yourself as the Alpha in your "pack."

Re: Need help!!
your trainer is correct. The dog is showing dominance towards you and the longer you let her do it, the worse it will be.
You need to roll her over on her back and LAY on top of her with some of your weight. This shows the dog that you are the leader. You do this EACH AND EVERY time she shows aggression towards you.
You can also do it randomly as they get older because they do need reminding.....we do it once in awhile with our 4 yr old Rottweiler
