really sad

just started spotting, round 1 of clomid didn't work. I am so down right now - I didn't realize how hard I would take this. I just had a total meltdown. it's finally starting to sink in that I may be in this for a really long haul.
I guess it's on to cycle 2 with clomid later this week. does anyone know if they automaticcaly up dose? was on 50 mg this month, had only one follicle though.
also, how many cycles of clomid have you done before moving on to injectibles? I can't believe I'm even thinking this, I thought for sure the clomid would work. ugh. ugh. by the way, unexplained infertility.


ETA: for those of you who did more than three clomid cycles, do you regret not moving on sooner? thinking about bringing up to RE moving to injectibles if the clomid doesn't work after another month or two

Here is my clomid story:

I was on clomid for as long as they can put you on. They increased the dosage to 100 midway. The first couple of times I did clomid on my own then I did it with an IUI. When I was on clomid for my 2nd IUI I had a breakdown I actually didn't make it in for the IUI I tried one last time on my own and it didn't work. My Dr. saw me I just broke down in front of her, telling her how the fustration was getting to us my DH it was bad. Between the fustration and my endo issue she recommended going straight to IVF.

4 rounds of clomid, 3 rounds of femara, 2 unmedicated cycyles before injectables.

so sorry!! please don't give up!! i was so certain ivf #1 worked, because everything was moving along perfectly but then it didn't. this time around i thought that it probably didn't work and it did. you never know and although you face so many ups and downs, you have to keep trying to have faith.

I have done 4 IUI with clomid NOTHING
1 cycle with injectables FAILED
Keep trying to push for IVF w/ICSI but doctor wants to try more injectables first and try to improve with MF infertility!!
So I am hanging in there which is SO frustruating but I hoping he has a good reason for not just going straight to IVF!!!

MY 2nd round of clomid was successful - even though I only had 1 follie and Od from the side that I have a blocked tube.

Also wanted to add I would request the Dosage be raised for sure. Most people dont respond to 50 , but they have to start you on that dosage. The earlier you increase, IMO..the better to get results

ok, so I was by the RE, I will be doing another round of Clomid at 50 mg. Asked about increasing dose, but was told since I did ovulate at 50 mg, no increase.
I'm thinking about moving straight to injectibles/iui next month. does it make sense to do that without doing a clomid/iui? (just doing straight clomid so far)

It is such a hard process.

I also finished my first round of Clomid. Minimal response. So my doc. added in Metformin and upped my dose of Clomid. He will only do one more try with ClOMID after this one before moving to injectables.

As long as you are ovulating there is no need to up the dosage. More Clomid does not mean more follicles, no matter how what dosage you are on you will only produce one follicle.
I would give it two more tries with Clomid and then insist on injectibles. You don't want to take Clomid for too long because it can reduce your lining and E2 levels and also can produce cysts in your ovaries.

I've had 4 rounds of failed Clomid cycles and now I'm on round 5 of Clomid with an IUI this cycle. We'll see how it goes. He says he's only going to do two rounds of Clomid with IUI because I didn't respond to Clomid before (I was taking Clomid with my regular OB and now I'm seeing an RE).
