OPRAH AT HOME WITH HERMES

HERE'S more evidence that Oprah Winfrey is no longer peeved with luxury retailer Hermes. On page 152 of Vanity Fair, the talk show queen is the focus of the "My Desk" photo feature, which notes, "She enjoys Earl Grey or mint tea twice a day from her Hermes teacup and saucer." Page Six broke the story in June 2005 of how managers at the Hermes store in Paris, "in a stunning display of ignorance," wouldn't let her in. "Oprah didn't have her hair done," our source said at the time. "They have been having a problem with North Africans lately and obviously had no clue who she was." A Hermes exec came on her show three months later and apologized. Now Oprah's using Hermes china alongside her framed photo of Stedman Graham ("They've been together since 1986!"), a small bowl ("She leaves her earrings in this bowl after taping each show") and a snack plate ("Nuts, apples, and cheese are a favorite snack"). An eagle-eyed observer noted, "If she were still annoyed with Hermes she would not have used this particular cup."

they probably gave it to her as a peace offering

remember what happened when Oprah made the comment about meat- she is a very powerful woman

I can only imagine what the goes for a place setting!

Hermes isn't known for their "gift giving".

I would imagine the average Hermes customer didn't care about the whole Oprah incident and that it didn't hurt their sales in the least bit.
