I went there as a guest a few years ago. It's a typical guy's gym. I didn't feel comfortable working out there.

It's down the block from my house. I pass it everyday driving to and from the train station and everytime I look into the window all I see is guys. I don't think I've ever seen a female in there.

I will say that the cardio portion of the gym is in an area that you can't see when driving down hempstead ave, so that could be why I never see any women there.

I actually tried it out....I was sad that there were no classes, I like them for a day that I am just not feeling my own workout.

I'm assuming you live near that Gold's then? There is a gym in Lynbrook on Merrick Rd called Sport Time. I used to be a member but didn't love it. By the time I got there after work everyday they were out of towels and there were hardly any available machines to go on.. but I know they do have classes. I quit that gym and joined NY Sports Club in Hewlett. There is a NYSC in Oceanside too if that's closer to you..

My sister and my mom work out there and have for years. They seem to like it, no complaints.
My sis lives right off Lakeview down the block, so its convenient for her.

I used to work at SportTime, it was great at one point, bu tI just think they eventually got too many members to keep up. And very $$$...Curves is on Hempstead a few blocks up though.
