Hmm...that a little tough but I think that there are no guarantees that you'd get that director position. Just because that woman is a flake, doesn't necessarily mean she's leaving anytime soon. Plus you might hate working for her...
I would stay with the people you like...with this guy taking the higher position, you never know, if you he likes you, he may open up something for you.
