i ran a knockout pool and was in a few others. Basically a knockout pool is where you pick a team to win each week
No points, no anything.
If you win, you advance
If you lose, you're out
And if you win, you can't pick the same team twice.
Also known as a suicide pool.
Last man standing wins.
I was in four of these this year and was elminated from my final one a few weeks ago.
I don't do the traditional picking with points.

That's interesting...I never heard of that before...
I just do the regular picks with points in a family pool

yeah, i can never do the math 
and figure out how i win and the over/under and all that stuff
in our pool, there's a strategy to hold the good teams (Indy, New England, etc.) to the end.
But as we learn, anything can happen from week to week
