Cheese sauce for Veggies

Does anyone know how to make a cheese sauce (for lack of a better word) that I can put on cauliflower and broccoli on Thanksgiving? TIA!

Buy a box of Argo cornstarch and there are recipes right on the box for both a cheese sauce and a white sauce.

My FIL makes this and he swears by using a bit of cornstarch with melted american cheeze -- the processed kind. I've had it and it tastes good, even though it sounds so gross.

I usually just use a good melting cheese - one you'd use for fondue - like a Gruyere.

You need to make one with a roux sauce, I make one all the time but I never use a recipe...

Melt some butter in a sauce pan, whisk in some flour, let this cook for a minute or two, slowly mix in your cold milk, keep whisking because it goes very very firm, once the milk and butter mixture are mixed together bring it up to a slow boil, add your grated cheese, I like Gruyere and/or a mature Cheddar...I also add a small spoon of english mustand and a little salt and pepper...

easy peasy lemon squeezy!!!

-or-

1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp butter substitute
1 tbsp flour
milk
3/4 cup grated cheese
salt and pepper

Melt butter & butter substitute in pot on about heat of 7. Add in flour. Stir with whisk. Gradually add milk. Stir until mixture starts to thicken. Add in cheese. Reduce to low heat add salt & pepper. Simmer until cheese is melted.
Pour over your favourite steamed veggies.

I do this one too! I usually use grated Cracker barrel Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese. I find it melts soooooo nicely and has a great flavor!

Campbells makes a Cheese Sauce (maybe it's labelled soup) that my mom used to use.
