update on Buca
Buca has been on Prednisone for her Lymphoma for about three weeks now. She is feeling SO much better and is almost acting like a puppy again. She's playful and active. She's also reallllly thirsty and hungry, and is peeing in her sleep almost every night, even though we try to limit her water right before bedtime. I can deal with that though.
She is also very different personality-wise, and is getting a little aggressive. She grabbed a bagel out my my three year old's hand and nipped her a little bit, and jumped up to eat food off my baby's tray. There are quite a few other incidents as well. She was never, ever one to beg for food. You could have left a steak on the ground and she would not touch it until she was allowed to...so this is a change for us. Is it the meds that are making her totally starving all the time? We've been giving her more food but it never seems to be enough. Any advice?

Did the vet tell you the side effects of prednisone? It will increase her appetite. Def watch her food intake and don't let anyone eat food around her.

Re: update on Buca
My friend had the same problem with his dog on prednisone. Keep her away from people with food, especially the baby. She is just hungry all the time.

Re: update on Buca
My dog was also pretty hungry on predinose. He was on a special diet for other medical issues, so I had to be pretty creative with treats for him. Just keep a close eye, when Buca is around the baby, don't have tempatation in her face, so you can avoid having a problem. I am glad Buca is doing better!!
