I went on a 7 day cruise and brought $1000 in cash, but kept most of it in the safe... It depends on a lot of things, but we gambled a lot and we also put a lot on our Amex which worked out better for us...

same for us.
i think when we went on the 12 day, we also took about the same. its just more sea days, so anything on the boat gets charged anyway.
