That is annoying.
I call my co-workers after hours but usually because I forgot to do something before I left, it was something that had to be done and I need someone to do it.
But I would kick any co-worker really hard in the shins if they called my cell phone to tell me they sent me an email. Call me only if the building is about to shut down, alarms are ringing and you need my access codes otherwise it can wait till the morning.

That really is annoying and I don't even get why they would have called just to tell you they sent you an email...I guess just so that they can be annoying!!!
