I had a scratchy throat too, I think its allergies, it only lasted 2 days.
I just drink some lemon tea.

Dh squeezes lemons, put the lemon juice in iced tea-heats it in the microwave - it really helps
gargle with salt water

gargle with warm salt water and drink lots of liquid. It sounds horrid but it does work.

I had a sore throat last week that turned into a cold.
I gargle with listerine and drink tea with lemon and honey.

gargle with a cap full of peroxide. It's gross but works like a charm at killing anything at the onset.

I have a really bad sore throat too-- and it's really annoying!
I hope it is just allergies or something, as opposed to being really sick.
Either way, I feel like shite.

I think it is allergies also. I have been waking up feeling congested and once I take some allergy meds I am fine.

I do this, but dilute the HP. It works! But you need catch it early.

I just finished my final dose of azithromycin today.
This was the worst sore throat I have had in my life. I was literally convulsing after swallowing I was in so much pain.
I feel so much better after the antibiotics.
ETA: Definitely gargle with salt. It moves the water out of the inflamed cells (at least that it what I was told).
