They are quite different. Here are some pictures...
1st one is colonial, 2nd is victorian and 3rd one is tudor (my favorite!)

I think it has to do with that "rounded peak" in the front. I don't know the name of it. But when looking at house plans that is what seemes to be the only difference.

Colonials are perfectly named for their time. They are more boxy. Victorians are aptly named for their era, which was fancy, elaborate and appealing to the eye. Often, they have porches and turrets, peaks, various sized windows etc. Tudors are distinct because of the brown and cream contrasting parts.
