while i agree with you for sure, i think the rationale here was that Wright didn't make the playoffs.
I think the collapse played a big part in him not getting it, unfortunately. It shouldn't be that way, but I think if you go back and look at past winners, they all had playoff appearances that year.
I could be wrong

I'm sure there's more.
It's not always a factor and personally I don't think it should be. The stats alone prove Wright was robbed.
I just don't get it.
