Is the party planned for later in the evening, or are people expecting to be fed a meal?

Yeah, you should be fine then since that's after the normal dinner hour. If it gives you peace of mind though, maybe run to Trader Joe's or some place and pick up a couple other boxes of the frozen apps to have on hand just in case.
They have these yummy mini beef and chicken tacos, and also these indian rolls that taste great.
I love having leftovers for lunch during the week so I often go overboard with pasta salad or a baked ziti as well!

I would bring the six foot hero out sooner then midnight -- that's pretty heavy to be eating in the middle of the night. I would probably add more soda so the designated drivers and non-drinkers will have plenty to drink. I don't think 4 liters will go too far.
