Re: anyone else's friends vanish after you got married?
I'm sorry you feel that way I feel the same way too. I don't have that many friends that I see all the time any more since I have gotten married and moved to NJ....it stinks.

Re: anyone else's friends vanish after you got married?
Actually I'm the last to get married and they were the ones who stopped calling me when they settled down.

Re: anyone else's friends vanish after you got married?
I only had my best friend and my sister, niece and 2 SIL's. So, they are stuck with me and can't disappear from my life. Sometimes a good thing, sometimes not
ETA: Sorry, i thought you were talking about friends in the bridal party.
Still, I've kept in better touch with all my friends since the wedding. I think it's easier now since we are all married and have even more in common.

Re: anyone else's friends vanish after you got married?
I have this problem too. I have 2 BM's that haven't talk to me since the holidays . I do feel really bad about but I have too much on my plate right now to sit there and ask a thousand times "what's wrong" "what did I do".

Re: anyone else's friends vanish after you got married?
I am with you on this. More than half of our bridal party we no longer speak to for one reason or another. On his side: we don't communicate with two cousins (brothers) because one of their wives tried to use us as a cover for her affair and when she was caught, she turned it around on us somehow. Another was Bob's business mentor who had drug/alcohol addictions and didn't want to deal with Bob anymore. His own brother, who we had a falling out with over his wife and her never-ending antics.
Two of my sister in laws I don't speak to because of a pending divorce with one of my brothers. The SIL not involved in the divorce is taking sides with STBX SIL and has little or no interaction with the family. She won't let my nieces be invovled or attend family functions either so count off three more. Included in that is her sister, who I felt closer with than the actual SIL. A cousin who has completely cut off ALL of her family (no reason and no one understands). She won't even talk to her own parents and no one knows why. A former "friend" who I cut off because she was continually making digs and innuendos about how "close" she was to my husband. So I would say out of a party of 18, we maybe speak to less than half? It's very, very sad. I've come to discover that some of my friends mean more than my family does to me.

Re: anyone else's friends vanish after you got married?
We are still close with our whole bridal party. However there are some friends who were at our wedding who we haven't seen since then! The funny thing is that one of them lives in Forest Hills, and now that we live a few blocks away, we haven't seen him at all!

Re: anyone else's friends vanish after you got married?
No, I am still very close with all of my friends. I have a very DRAMA free life when it comes to my friends. My DH and I grew up together and we have had the same group of friends since we were kids...all together there are about 12 of us (not including spouses). They were all in our bridal party. Everyone has busy lives but we all make time to keep in touch and hang out regularly.

Re: anyone else's friends vanish after you got married?
I think we understandably became very busy when we first began to get married.
Wedding plans, Refurnishing the house, unpacking, settling in, some had children.....
but we've always maintained to not let too long go by before we see or speak to each other. Sometimes more than a month or two goes by - without me speaking with one of my friends - but the great thing has been - that once we start talking and see each other - its like we never lost any time - we just pick up from where we started and have a great time catching up.

This is me and my friends also. It's amazing how we can just pick up from the last time

Re: anyone else's friends vanish after you got married?
me too! I have spent time kinda feeling blue over this at times but on the other hand i wouldn't trade their friendhsips for my current life and relationship w/dh for a second. it has made me realize how luky i am to have dh who is there no matter what, and the firends who do keep in contact; but its hard too b/c if you are like me, you constantly think about your lost friends too....
i have realized that i was always kinda the pushover friend of sorts, where i made the extra effort nad maybe i didn't since i got married, or who knows....i have reched out to all of them to let them know i am here if they need me, but thats about where we are....
i hear you and know where you're coming from....we should form a new friends club on here....big s to all of you!!

Nope. Not at all. Actually, now that the wedding is behind us, I have more time to spend with my friends.
