I know I've posted this before but try group homes and such. Often you can get on a per diem list, and it could often turn into something F/T, or he could remain per diem in the event he gets a F/T job elsewhere and wants this to fall back on just in case.
Same agencies I've seen that look like they are often hiring are FREE, Life's WORC and YAI.
You can do a search on Indeed under "counselor".

YAI is both in NYC as well as Long Island.
I think the other 2 are specific to LI.
I know there are many more agencies if you do a search :).

you could try an employment agency. sometimes they have temporary admin jobs (not sure if that is something he'd want to do). or, are there any oppty's in his seasonal line of work? you could also perhaps try looking in the PT or etc job sections in craigslist. Good Luck!
