Re: Kid-Friendly websites?
My kids haven't asked to use the computer on their own yet, but we do sit with them and let them do disney or pbs or nick jr.

Re: Kid-Friendly websites?
Robbie uses FunBrain and Luminosity. Noah really likes Starfall still!
ETA: We don't allow Noah to go on any websites that aren't 'educational' in nature, but Robbie does get to go on some pretty 'bad' game sites that I'm sure you aren't interested in so I didn't include them!

These are the sites DSS goes to as well. We let him go to youtube with supervision.

Re: Kid-Friendly websites?
Ava LOVES starfall.com It's more educational, but she really does love it. Also for older kids, childrensmusicworkshop.com has awesome music games. They have like name the note baseball games etc.
I also love the new york philharmonic's kids zone on their website. It has like video games, but music related. There's also a mystery game. My kids at school love it so much they use it at home.

Re: Kid-Friendly websites?
Nick has been really into Club Penguin lately.
Also, Yahoo has some great games to download. You only get a limited time on them though. He likes Super Granny.
We nixed YouTube since we learned one small typo can lead to disaster!

Oh God yes! And beware of Wikipedia too. My DS was doing some research for a school project and when we printing something out, there were racy ads on the side of the topic (Teddy Roosevelt!)
