Re: freaking out/need to vent abt 8 month old

Oh man, I could have wrote the same thing about Liam at 8 months. Welcome to the club of mom's of very active little boys!! LOL. In fact, I sometimes feel I never had an "infant" because DS was ALWAYS on the go.

Trust me, its def. is a lot to handle and there will be bumps & bruises down the road. Liam was cruising at 8 months and walk at 9.5 mos and since then, he climbs on EVERYTHING, and is SOO active. He also LOVED table food early on. We went with it. He stopped baby food at around 9 months.

As far as the bathtub, its def. not easy. I just kept pushing he to a sit position. Trust me, he will eventually not stand as much. Now, at 17 months Liam is practically swimming in the bathtub.

ty kerry. i think i just need to hear similar stories and that "it will be ok"

aww, hang in there. As much as these boys give us headaches and make us run around, they are sooo enjoyable!!! Make sure you have that video camera ready!!!

For instance, yesterday Liam climbed his way to our 3rd shelf of our wall unit (about 1.5 feet off the ground). We immediately got him out. He jammed his body in there so tight and was laughing hysterical..

Luce has been doing this as well, and he hasn't hit the 8 month mark yet!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I have just been sitting him right back down, and when he makes a move telling him NO. eventually he will learn what that means (I hope! Chat Icon Chat Icon ) but I've just held firm. he is a STRONG lil bugger!!!! I do hover very close to him in the tub though b/c I am so scared he will hit his head. I am still using the Eurobath so at least he'd fall into the plastic of the baby tub and not the big main tub.

but I have resigned myself to the fact that my son is a lunatic. he is going to hurt himself, no matter how vigilant I am.

just this weekend his "cruising" has gotten so much bolder. he's one handing it when he's holding on and he just throws himself.

I wish you luck!Chat Icon

Re: freaking out/need to vent abt 8 month old

My DS is the same...he is 9 mo. now. It's a phase...although I LOVE the crawling face because it's cute, I can't wait for him to start walking. He is constantly standing and all over the place and gets hurt from trying to do things he really can't do yet.
