My niece is getting married at the Swan Club in October. We will be traveling to NY with my 2 year old son and the one month old infant If I didn't love her so much, my butt would be staying here
Anyway, we are looking at hotels that can accommodate the four of us. She has a booking at Glen Cove Mansion but I am thinking about staying at the Homewood Suits in Melville. Is anyone familiar with the hotel or the area? Is it a safe area? Sorry if this is a stupid question but LI is a big mystery to me

Re: Not sure where to put this - Long Island Melville area - Hotel
I've stayed at the hotel, it's nice. It's right off the LIE on the Round Swamp Rd exit. It's a safe area.
It's not far from Farmingdale or South Huntington.

Re: Not sure where to put this - Long Island Melville area - Hotel
Homewood Suites are usually in an industrial park kind of area. They are usually really cheap on the weekends. It's usually a hotel for long term business people there for long stays. They have kitchens, fridges, microwaves in them. Great for families.
When ever I go somewhere, I try to find one of these hotels because of the convenience factor.

you realize melville is a bit of a trek from where the wedding is, right?
how much do you want to spend?
there's a marriott near there, rosyln claremont, east norwich inn.
there's a homewood suites in Plainview I think? that would put your closer to the venue..

It's the same Homewood Suites - although it seems to be Plainview, it's technically Melville.

I have no concept of how far anything is in LI. I definitely appreciate the help. This HW suites is considered Plainview / Melville.
If there is something closer, safe, and large enough for my brood, I am happy to consider it!

Best bet would probably be the LI Marriott in Uniondale...
