Need help staying positive

Try REALLY hard to think positively, the likelihood of this pregnancy being totally and completely normal is 99%!!!! Even higher!!!!

I don't know if you're seeing a specialist or doing the acupuncture route, but definitely express your concerns to your doctors - they can help to reassure you. Also, I personally have found that acupuncture is doing wonders to assuage my fears.

Re: Need help staying positive

I am currently 25 weeks pregnant after experiencing 3 losses.
I know for myself it was hard to think positively-but I forced myself to. I went to acupuncture and my acupuncturist said it was very important to be positive. Don't think "If everything is OK at the next appointment then . . ." instead think "When I go to the next appointment and see everything is OK." I did that. I also did visualizations. I would visualize myself throughout the pregnancy and afterwards as well as visualize my baby developing. I found positive pregnancy affirmations online and would repeat them over and over when I felt doubt creeping in.
I know how hard it can be but just take one day at a time and try to enjoy it. Someone else told me that just because something bad happened before doesn't mean the same thing has to happen again. I wish you all the best and a healthy, happy 9 months! Chat Icon

Need help staying positive

I got to Smithtown acupuncture - it had been recommended by a colleague of mine who had early mc's and one late term loss and then went on to have 2 children (for now, who knows if she'll go on for more). She sees (yes still sees) Adam, but I see Nicole - that's who they recommended for this. Last session I was in tears with her because I just was in such a bad place - in the last 2 months I have not gone a single week without hearing about either a pregnancy or birth announcement and I just got really depressed for a few days. She did a treatment on me and reassured me that not only was I in such a great place to have children of my own soon, but that I was not alone in those thoughts, that every woman TTC, especially those who have had issues, has those feelings.

She is very knowledgable about fertility and different approaches to supporting our fetility and pregnancy. She doesn't push herbs on you like some other acupuncturists do. She really takes her time with each patient and takes weekly notes on your case.

Oh and one more thing-are they monitoring your progesterone? If they have you on it, do they feel it's low? I had low progesterone at the beginning of this pregnancy and had already been on crinone. I also started taking progesterone in oil and it really helped my numbers go up-but they were monitoring them every week.
