Re: Need ideas for New Years Eve!
4 hour drive from LI could take you to Mohegan Sun, Foxwoods, Newport, RI, Boston... Boston has a fabulous First Night in the city. It's actually been years since I've been, but I remember it being a blast.

My best friend is coming in from FL to celebrate NYE with all of us and we want to do something fun! We are so sick of just going into the city to a bar and really want to do something different this year.
Any ideas? We're open to anything that is within a 4-hour drive from LI. We will probably be about 15-20 people.
I know it's not even halloween yet, but we always wait till the last minute to make plans for NYE and end up doing something lame every year.
TIA!!!!
Why don't you do the catering hall thing? I've never done it.. but friends who have swear it was the best new years.. You get all dress up, eat, drink, dance...
I'll be in Alcapulco

We did this last year at Majestic Gardens. It was fun a MUCH older crowd. I think if you pick a different hall it would be better.

Re: Need ideas for New Years Eve!
I think we're going to Woodbury CC. We've done it before there it's nicely done. They have a band in the upstairs room and a DJ in the downstairs room and a full 5 course dinner with an open bar and cocktail hr. Very cool. There are hotels 1/2 mile away so you can crash after taking a cab.

Thanks girls, great ideas!
If we go to a catering hall, is it mostly couples? We will have 5 or more people with us that are single...

From what I remember some tables were whole families and some were couples and some were a mix. There are definitely single people there.

Great! Let me know what happens. I think we're going to go if our band is playing.
