Not sure if any saw this but thought I would pass along the info.

I'm glad they're finally doing this. Hopefully it will get more people to recycle.

Am I the only one who thinks that sucks? For a 24-pack that's going to cost me a $1.25 extra. I don't bring my bottles back to the supermarket, but I do recycle them in my town recycling bin each week.

I do.

Guess I will have to get another Britta.

Re: .05 cent return on water bottles

It might be a good idea and hopefully the outcome of it would be to get more people to recycle also!

Maybe get a Brita pitcher, or install a filter in your faucet. Since we've installed our faucet filter we haven't bought any water and have saved $$$ not to mention the amount of water bottles that don't get thrown into the recycling bin.

I'm all for a deposit on soda and beer, in fact I think we are long due to raise the deposit.

However I don't think water and juices should carry a deposit. Would rather keep those costs lower to encourage people to pick juice/water over soda.

I think it's great and I even think they should expand it even further to include iced tea and sports drinks.
