1 day from closing and the house is not done!
We did a final walk through yesturday (after an initial punch list a month ago) and the work that needed to be done either wasn't or was painted poorly (they brush painted areas where it was rolled/sprayed, so it does not match)
We were lived and waisted yesturday walking through the house again to make a new list that needs to be done.
We are set to close tomorrow, packed, truck rented, ILs coming down and now it might not happen on time.
PLEASE SEND ME CLOSING VIBES!!!!!!!!!!!!

the day before closing seems to be the worst day of the whole process. try to stay calm and things will work out. here are closing vibes!

Lots of closing vibes! I feel your pain. Morning of closing and our sellers hadn't finished packing and cleaning out the house, but in the end at the end of the day, we closed. GL!

oh no...we had a list for our builder to touch up stuff before we closed...however since the house was under warranty from them for a year they still had to come out and fix whatever was not up to our standards after we closed.
Do you have that from your builder as well?

yes, it's new construction, so we have the warrenty too. STILL NO NEWS. I don't think no news is good news.

We bought new construction as well and they were still working on little nits (paint, etc.) here and there up until we closed and the morning of our closing (our closing was at 1:00 p.m.).
Whatever they couldn't finish up they had us sit down with our project manager, who put together an addendum, which listed all the items that still needed to be done. We still went on with the closing and they just worked on the house while we were moving. Perhaps they might do the same in your case? I know it's not ideal and you want it to be DONE, but at least you can stil close and move in?
They even had the housecleaners come in and make sure the house was dust-free, clean and spotless before we got there (after the closing).

We bought new construction as well, and when we closed our driveway and walkway weren't done, along with a list of minor things on the interior of the house.
We had the attorney hold some of our downpayment equivalent to the value of work to be done in escrow until we signed off that the job was completed to our satisfaction.
