1 hour glucose test advice?
Does anyone have any advice for the 1-hour glucose test? I need to go this week... the Dr said that if I fast I have better chances of passing... but how long should i fast?? I was thinking of going first thing in the morning before work (around 7am) so what time should i stop eating the night before? Any specfic foods I should stay away?

Re: 1 hour glucose test advice?
I went very easy on carbs the day before and then stopped eating around 9PM the night before (I was scheduled to start drinking the drink at 8AM the next day and tested at 9AM). I drank a lot of water and walked on the treadmill about 15 minutes.
However, and I'm not sure my above routine had anything to do with it... about a half hour after drinking the stuff I got so sick to my stomach, I had to ask the doctor's staff if I could lay down somewhere. Apparently, I got a sudden rush from the sugar and crash that got me sick. I'm not sure I'd do much different (I passed the test), nor am I trying to scare you. I don't know if anyone has passed and had like a few crackers a couple of hours before the test.
I have heard too though that no matter what you do if you have GD, you have it no matter what you do to try to pass the test. So, I guess it depends on the person.

That's what I did. I had a 7am appointment and had my dinner the night before and fasted the whole night through.

Re: 1 hour glucose test advice?
I didn't fast at all. My appt was 4pm, and I ate normally throughout the day, just nothing too sugary.
I passed with both pregnancies.

If you are going in the morning, I just wouldn't eat that morning. You can still eat dinner the night before. Stay away from juice in the morning too. Just have water.
