#1 on the expecting list with a long added VENT

Wow, my name is going to disappear in just a few hours. At my last dr. appointment on Monday were were told no progress. I have been feeling cramping and lots of pressure but I still don't think I have had any contractions. Mucus plug is still intact (sorry TMI) and I don't think this little one is coming out any time soon. I guess I just made the perfect home for him. During my appt. on Monday we discussed plan B, an induction. My primary dr. said they will induce between 7-10 days but during my visit on Monday I had to be seen by the new dr. b/c she will be starting to deliver babies next week. During the visit she told me she doesn't like people to go more than a week and asked the receptionist to schedule an induction in case nothing happens. The receptionist scheduled a induction for me for next Thursday which is what only 6 days after my EDD. In some ways I look forward to having an clear end in sight but I can't help to feel that this is too soon. I would really rather just go naturally! Everyone keeps sharing their horror stories of Pitocin with me and now I am getting even more nervous. I am not sure what to do??? I was thinking of asking them to move it later during my next appointment on Monday. I am also taking into account the fact they originally had my due date as August 4th. This was early on based on my last periods (which were less than regular). They changed my due date early on b/c of the early sonograms. I am so confused and just want to meet the little guy already!!!!

This happened to me....dont be scared/nervous and listen to yourself.

I was due May 1st
No baby on May 1st...and no progress

The dr wanted to induce but I insisted that unless it was medically necessary (e.g. baby is losing liquid) then I would not do it.

We compromised that I would be induced on May 10th (he wouldnt let me go beyond that date)

Guess what? I went into labor on my own on the night of May 9th.

Take your time

I think you should follow your instincts and mommy "feelings". If you are not comfortable with an induction and I don't blame you, voice your opinion. Ask for a few more days at least. I always say listen to that inner voice!

Yeah, we will be talking on Monday! Hopefully this baby comes on his own beforehand and we don't even have to worry about this
