1 year old blood test
ok so now that I am aware that she is going to need blood taken, where do they take it out of at 1 years old? The arm?

Depends upon what type of test they are doing...
Some tests of just a finger prick type of thing. But if they are running lab work they will take blood from her arm the way they do you or I.

I need to do this too. I think it is to test for lead since all of the toy recalls and such...
I wonder if it will hurt too.

for DD's lead test, they took it out of her arm, it was a nightmare. They took a 4 or 5 vials.

They've been doing lead testing for a very long time. Your child can have lead in their blood if you have lead pipes, lead paint in your house, etc.. That's the main reason behind it, not the toy recalls

They took the blood from ds's arm, and I have to say our experience was not bad at all. We went to GSH lab and the 1st nurse had a problem finding a vein and she explained she was new and wanted to get someone else which she did and the other nurse got it in 1 shot.
