1 year old gagging on table foods?
My 1 yr old is very interested in table food. The problem is- he is so inconsistent when it comes to what he is able to eat and hold down. He eats puffs and cheerios and fruit fine. Sometimes he can eat rice and pasta, other times he will gag and throw it up. All other foods he gags and spits out. Should I be worried? I need some help!!

I am not much help but I just wanted to let you know that I feel your pain. DD is 8 months and any time I try anything that is not a puree she completely gags and throws up. I have decided to just take a break from all the table/finger foods for right now.
DD was never the best eater so the trend just seems to continue.
Did you bring up your concerns with the doctor?

I dont think so. It took my DS well after his 1st bday to get the hang of table food. some days he would eat something great, then i'd try it again and he'd have trouble.
Just keep trying.

I dont think so. It took my DS well after his 1st bday to get the hang of table food. some days he would eat something great, then i'd try it again and he'd have trouble.
Just keep trying.
ITA. DD now does great on table food, but she still has textures that she doesn't always take well too. It's not always a linear process.

We had a slow transition to table food, with lots of gagging as well.
They say it can take up to 20 times for a baby to get used to eating something so I'd keep trying.
For DS, it just clicked one day and now he eats a wide variety of things.
