No advice since it's usually a challenge for us to cross 2 rivers to get to LI with a 6.5 month old!
I guess it really depends on how well he does in the car to begin with.

IDK, we did 12 hrs with JAZ. He handled it better then we did. I was done after 4 hrs, he smiled and drooled. How bout leaving at night and drivng while he sleeps?

Re: 10 hour car trip to Toronto with 1 year old?
I would do it if we did it overnight, so he could sleep most of the way. I would do it during the day only if we made a stop every 2 hours. He is too mobile now that he doesn't want to be in the car that long without 'running' around.

Re: 10 hour car trip to Toronto with 1 year old?
We drove to Charlotte around the time he was 1. I am not a big night driver, so we went during the day---it worked out fine. Granted it took us longer as we stopped to feed him, give him a break is the seat, etc, but we made it without any major craziness. We also took turns sitting in the back which I don't normally do, but helped out keeping him happy! We are doing the trip again next month when DS will be 19 months and I will absolutely use the DVD player! GL!

Re: 10 hour car trip to Toronto with 1 year old?
We did 8 hours to buffalo... left at 2 am... he basically slept until 7 am which is when we stopped for breakfast.. then played and napped for the remaining 3 hours...
on the way home we left at 11am which was the WORST... he was good and slpet 90% of the time... the problem was that he was WIDE awake at 10pm when we wanted to go to bed after the long drive
