They'll probably weigh you, check your BP and have you pee in a cup. You can ask questions and if you choose to do the screenings, you may get information on those and set up appointments. As you get further along in your pregnancy, the doctor will also listen to the baby's heartbeat with the doppler and probably measure your belly.

Re: 10 week appt...what to expect?

this really freaks me out that they won't be a sono or anything since i hadn't made it this far my other PG's. Should i ask to do a sono or something?

And they might take blood-they did with me. As for the doppler, my OB used it at 10 weeks, but it depends on the practice.

My dr. wouldn't do the doppler until 12 weeks. Depends on the dr.

Just had my 9 week appointment and they took a urine sample, checked my BP and weight and did a sonogram.

Re: 10 week appt...what to expect?

Just be aware -- my Dr tried the doppler at 10 weeks and we couldn't hear anything yet. Baby was fine it was just too early. We heard it loud and clear at our next appt.

10 weeks is really early to hear anything with the doppler.

It's too early for the doppler. That will just scare you more when they can't find it.
