$1,000 to pay forward (sort of oprah related)
If someone gave you $1,000 (or you wanted to "donate" $1,000 of your own money) and you had to do something creative with it what would you do?
For example - you can't just write a check out to a charity - you have to help an every day person...
Like maybe you call Coned or Lipa and help payoff someones bill that is going through a hardship - or you pay for someones groceries that doesn't expect it, etc...
This question is inspired by oprahs pay it forward giveaway for those that caught that show....

I would want to help out a senior citizen that is living on a fixed income and has to decide between medicine or food. I see this too often and it makes me so sad.

I think I would give it to the homeless lady that sits in the stairs at penn station and always wishes everyone good night.
Unfortunately, $1000 doesn't go very far these days..

hmmm....don't know
i know this sounds materialstic but maybe I would deliver birthday gifts or holiday gifts for kids that never get them.
or send a less fortunate child to a fun camp for the summer

i would do one of those "adopt a family" type things that i know a lot of churches do at christmas time... they give you the list of the family, sexes-ages-interests and you play santa. my mom used to do it every year. i would love to give a family a christmas who isn't able to afford the presents and tree and big dinner themselves.

I like the idea of getting gifts for kids.

I would load up my minivan with a bunch of elderly people and take them food shopping weekly until the money ran out. I always find it so sad when I see an elderly person walking or taking the bus to the food store because they don't have anyone to take them.

hmmm...
- something frivilous and fun for DebG - pay for someone's education in a direct or indirect way. By indirect, I'm thinking of something like paying transportation, living or child care expenses to help someone get through roadblocks in his or her life
