Re: 101 fever (question from waterspout)

Ped told us if fever was 101 just to give tylenol - no need to call. Im not sure about how long though but, i guess if the tylenol never works then maybe then you should call?

Honestly? 101 is not that high to me, so I wouldn't panick over it. The only time I ever got worried about Ava's fever was when it was 104.

Does the fever go down with tylenol? If it goes on for a few days ans no other symptoms I would go to the Dr.

Re: 101 fever (question from waterspout)

I would call the doctor if the baby has a 101 feaver for more than 24 hours. That is just me. The worst they can say is give tylenol. If they think it is serious they will tell her to go to the ER. The dr should have an emergency line. I would call....If it is long enough to ask here it is long enough to call. I hope her DS feels better soon.

Re: 101 fever (question from waterspout)

101 isnt really a high fever. In fact, my ped, doesnt really consider it a "fever". However, if it does last more than 3-4 days, I would probably call the dr. But before that, I would try another thermometer...maybe it not working well or is just reading higher than it should.

Re: 101 fever (question from waterspout)

DD had a fever of 101, 102 and 103 all of Monday night, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday last week, and the Dr wasn't the least bit concerned.

I would call the Dr just for peace of mind though! Chat Icon

Re: 101 fever (question from waterspout)

I think as long as it is responsive to tylenol or motrin I wouldn't panic. Maybe call the ped. tomorrow just to check. But it isn't extremely high so it could be teething although I think I remember reading that the baby was sick last week. Just be careful of ear infections.Chat Icon

ITA-call for peace of mind if worried. Once I waited on DD#1 fever and it turned out to be The Coxsakie Virus.Chat Icon

Kelly call the Dr. if you are concerned . Michael could be teething and that may be why he is running the fever. Keep me informed . I am praying for you and your familyChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I really don't think 101 is that high for a baby. I would just give a little tylenol. Hope he feels better soon.Chat Icon Chat Icon
