11 month olds - Formula intake?
How much formula is/was your DC getting at 11 months? How much drinking and how much in cereal/other things?
DS is NOT a big formula drinker at all - never was (at the height of it he gor about 24 oz per day).... now it has been torture.
Yesterday he took in 10 oz ... and that is with not feeding him breakfast and giving him very little lunch/dinner. He just plain refuses. It takes him 2 hours to drink 4 oz. I have to keep offering it over and over again - he drinks a bit, then plays then drinks some more, then plays then drinks.
Ped is insisting he gets 16+ oz per day but I cannot seem to . I thought this was supposed to get easier?!

Re: 11 month olds - Formula intake?
At 11 mos I was giving DS milk....He just loved it. My DS loved his bottles more then food so it was just the opposite. You could try a different presentation, maybe a different temp, or a different bottle or cup....that could help. You will see a differennce in his eating habits now that he is getting to be more active. Don't worry, he will be fine.

Re: 11 month olds - Formula intake?
I mix her fruit in her cereal so she doesnt get any formula in that. She just gets 3 -8oz bottles of formula but doesnt finish it all. Ive been giving her water in btwn bottles to help cut down on the formula intake. My peds wants her to have about 20 oz total. Im hoping next month we can stop formula.

Re: 11 month olds - Formula intake?
Michael gets two 8-9oz bottles per day...one in the morning and one in the evening...my ped said no more than that...and do the same when we switch him to milk next month...no more than 18 oz a day.
ETA: Lisa, what about giving him milk? Try a bottle of milk and see how he takes it.

Doctor said to keep him on formula still. I have tried every which way to serve it - hot/cold/room temperature - different sippy cups/bottles - before naps/after naps/while eating. I don;t think he likes the taste at all.

I think DS still loves his sippy cups more than food. He's getting between 21 & 28oz per day of formula (sometimes we skip the one before bed if he has a big dinner).

I wouldn't take the formula away completely, just see how he takes it...maybe a few onces in the morning and at night...have you tried straw cups? Michael never liked his sippy cups but he loves drinking from the straw...I wish could be more of help!
