Re: 18 months and Fluoride
You will have to check with your doc or your dentist, but from what I know ( I work in a dentist office) kids should have a supplement of fluoride ( like vitamins or something) starting month 6, so at 18 months your DC should be OK.

Re: 18 months and Fluoride
I think I would try to return them. I don't think you need the vitamins with fluoride if you drink water with it in it. I think the vitamins are for those who have no fluoride in the water.

but she never said her DC takes any vitamins. If DC takes vitamins then there is no reason to buy water with fluoride, otherwise check with ped and try to supplement fluoride somehow. I've seen many 3-4 year olds that never took fluoride and had bad decay or even root canals on their baby teeth.

True - I think that is what I READ into what she was asking - I never thought she was just meaning should he drink water in general with fluoride. So my answer changes - IF your DC takes vitamins with fluoride I don't think I would give the water without talking with your ped - but if they don't take those vitamins it isn't an issue (at least that is what my ped had said when we asked about drinking that water.)
