birth announcements
I'm starting to look at birth announcements, but I never realized how expensive they were!
I would like a photo announcement. What do you think is an average price for these?
Can you recommend any websites?

Yeah, the prices are crazy. Ask or do a search on the parenting board, some people there did photo announcements recently and they all came out great. I am not sure if I want photo announcements yet. I was thinking of waiting until the baby is a bit older and then sending pictures around to people who are interested. Prices seem to be high with or without photos in the announcements, though.

We did our own announcements...my husband created it on the computer from a picture I took of our daughter. Then we bought some really good photo paper and a new ink cartridge and I printed them and cut them myself. It cost about $60 for the paper and $50 for the ink. I didn't think that was too bad....

I ordered mine from Shutterfly. They came out cute and they were something like .60 each which I didn't think was too bad at all. The price goes down the more you order.

A lot of the places seem to be priced at about $2 a piece....

I got mine for 23 cents each at Winkflash.com. they were designed by a friend using our photos on photshop and it was like $25 for liek a 100 of them with shipping and envelopes. I dont think thats $$$.

These people will design the announcement for you for $25 and then you can print them as 5x7s at costco for about 20 cents each. Photo Announcements
They are pretty quick.
