1st Anniversary trip to Aruba - Any last minute recommendations?
We're staying all-inclusive at the Occidental - however I wanted to go out of the resort 1 or 2 nights for dinner. One of the places I have marked down as "don't miss" is Flying Fishbone.
Anything I shouldn't miss while I"m there? Thanks ladies. :)

Re: 1st Anniversary trip to Aruba - Any last minute recommendations?
We went to Aruba for our 1st anniversary also! It was nice. It would have been better if we didn't go to Hawaii first Definitely rent a car and go exploring! See baby beach, the lighthouse, caves (tunel of love), collapsed natural bridge, mt. hooiberg, ruins near natural bridge. If you rent a car they will give you a map. Here is a link to my pics: ENJOY

YES! The sun is the worst there for sunburns... I had a sunburn and heat rash after 2 days and I NEVER burn... be careful!

I am white as can be and did not get a sunburn there at all...I used Australian Gold SPF8 and grilled in the sun for about 3-4 hours daily and did not get burn...

Re: 1st Anniversary trip to Aruba - Any last minute recommendations?
I've been to Aruba twice...our last trip there was this past August and we had an awesome time.
We went out to eat every night we were there since we did not stay at an all-inclusive.
Here are our favs:
Madame Janette's - awesome food and ambiance...a little off the beaten path, but worth the cab fare. http://madamejanette.arubahost.com/
Mirandi's - Located on the beach...beautiful sunset and great food.
Flying Fishbone...if you like Gazspacho, theirs is delish. Very expensive cab ride, but if you make reservations for around 6p...you'll be dining seaside with an awesome sunset as a backdrop. http://www.flyingfishbone.com/
Papiamento...food was excellent and the setting is beautiful. http://www.papiamentorestaurant.com/
HAVE AN AWESOME VACATION!!!!
El Gaucho's is very popular, but isn't my favorite.

Wow! Thanks so much..these are some great recommendations and links. Lots of info...one? though:
If you rent a car and drive around by yourself - how did you know where you were going & where the attractions were? I think my aunt told me that there is a cool place near the collapsed bridge but you have to drive off the road and it's get a little rocky. How did u navigate Aruba by car?

they gave us a map when we rented the car. We had a regular car and still went off road. You can't get lost, it is an island! Have fun!

Exactly...it was easy to get around. We took our little jeep to the natural pool which was a little bit of an experience to find, but it was beautiful. You can ask anyone who lives there, they will help you find where you want to go.
