1st b-day cake - bakeries?
What is your recommendation for a great bakery to get a first b-day cake. Nassau or Suffolk recommendations! TIA

Dortoni in Levittown, the also have a company called Hey Cookie that makes awesome cakes-- take a look at their website...

Believe it or not IMO Stop&Shop has the BEST cakes available! I LOVE cake but I'm not a fan of most bakery cakes. S&S cakes taste like homemade . YUUUUUMMMMY!
ETA: I"ve only tried the one in Oceanside so not sure if they all taste the same

I believe it is technically West Sayville. Our wedding cake was from there, and I drive there every year to get a remade wedding cake....their cakes are terrific!

I'm going to order DD 1st birthday cake from Dortoni's in Levittown.
They have a sister bakery in Port Jeff called La Bonne Boulangerie.

My sister always gets her birthday cakes from La Bonne Boulangerie in East Norwich...I know they are pricey, but the cakes are always so beautiful!!

I agree with Audrey's, and we also LOVE the chocolate ganache frosting at the Rolling Pin in Setauket.

We are probably going with Alpine too. They did DD's christening cake in the dress shape - it was gorgeous!
