1st B-day catering question...
OK, so we are having Lucas's first birthday party next Saturday (even though his b-day is today.
I am having it catered and am about to order it, but am having a hard time deciding how much to get.
SO, if a full tray of food will serve 20 people and we are having 40 people over... how many trays of food would you get if you were in my shoes???

Depends on how many options you'll have. I'd order 2 trays of a chicken dish, 2 pasta trays, 1 meatball/sausage & peppers, and probably 1 eggplant. I would make my own huge salad to go along with it.

Re: 1st B-day catering question...
I always over do it, but I am one of those people who would rather have leftovers than be short. For DS' party we had about 45 people, including a few kids.
Aside from the appetizers and snack type stuff we also had...
2 full trays of chicken (2 different types) 1 full tray of baked ziti 1/2 tray eggplant rollatini 1/2 tray sauage and peppers 1 full tray meatballs 1/2 tray chicken fingers 1/2 tray mixed with mozarellla sticks and fried zucchini
I didin't have a lot of leftovers at all, but our friends and family are all pretty big eaters. My friends family eats like birds and she had way less for her daughters christening.
