1st Bday present for a girl

Everyone keeps asking me what they should get DD for her first birthday and I'm out of ideas! Can anyone offer some ideas? A few people are looking to buy her toys (and they insist upon this)-we've already covered that someone is getting her a wagon but they are looking for some other sort of big ticket ideas-not crazy expensive but more than lets say $20. Anything that your DC's really like/liked?

I have boys - but they really liked some unisex stuff. They liked things they could push, pull or sit on - like a small rocking horse? Or a wagon that you can use to take her out for walks? Things that might grow with her, ya know? They were both big fans of those clear blocks with little things in them too. And the busy beads were a hit. They loved their shopping carts (once they could walk). Good luck!
