1st birthday goodie-bags

DS turns one next month and we have a large age difference among the children coming. We have a few friends with kids 3 and under and then family with kids ranging in age from 3-17. Anyone have any ideas for the teens, pre-teens....So far I was thinking:

<1 to 3 years: bubbles, gerber graduates individually wrapped fruit snacks, stickers?

4-7 years: bubbles, temp tatoos, side-walk chalk, or crayons?

8-12: little books with word searches, puzzles, gel pens?

13 and >: lottery scratch off tickets...Only kiddingChat Icon

I think your ideas are great, maybe for 13+ (girls) hair & makeup things, nail poslishes, hair brush, lip glosses
boys: not too sure, but you cannot go wrong w/ candy, glowsticks

as for 17 yr old, i don't really think they would be expecting a 'goody bag' at that age, especially from a 1st bday party...but hey, why not scratch off's they are almost legalChat Icon

Hmmmmm....

Without knowing the kids are if they are boys and girls I would adjust your age groups...

My girls are 10 and they would be upset if they didnt get stuff that the teenagers got...

My girs like that stuff you can get that decorates your Ipod or phone...Bandanas...Lipgloss...Candy...gum...

Re: 1st birthday goodie-bags

Thanks for the tips...I don't have a final head count yet but it's a mix of girls and boys across the age groups. I'll most likely make a few extras of all to avoid any disappointments.

We had a similar age range at DS's first birthday. I broke the goodie bags down by age and gender. All bags had candy and an inflatable beach ball.

Older girls got an emery board, mini-notebook, and hair ties. Older boys got a mini-rubik's cube. Younger kids got these mini soccer/football balls and miniature baby einstein stuffed animals (party theme).

I went to one party where they put small tonka trucks in the infant bags and it was a huge hit.

Re: 1st birthday goodie-bags

Hi! We are having DD b-day party on June 27th..not sure when your party is but I know what you mean I have been stressing about these goodie bags and my cousin was great with honesty.
"They look at them for a day and then it's forgotten"
I stopped worrying and getting Beach balls, bubbles, glasses, and something else probably 4th of Julyish..
Older kids like the 7, 11, and 13 y/o kids are getting those fake fireworks stuff and my mom is driving up with sparklers (do they still sell sparklers here?) I just figured it would be "cooler" than the bubbles :) Is your party close to the 4th? As I write this there are fireworks in the background LOL
Good Luck! I am going this week to pick up supplies

no stickers for kids under 2.... choking hazard Chat Icon

I frankly wouldn't give a goodie bag to kids over 10-11.... too old... they want to be treated like adults Chat Icon

Re: 1st birthday goodie-bags

Stickers can go on paper for a sticker book for little ones..
Also, goodie bags for older kids will not have the same contents as the baby GB's-They all can't get the same thing but older kids love that stuff...so do adults Chat Icon
