1st birthday help: hall or outside party
DD birthday is July 31st. I want to have an outside birthday party and DH wants it at all hall.
As the host would you rather the party at home or a hall?
And as a guest would you rather an outside party or a hall party?
We have a big deck and pool and a huge yard so we would put a tent out there for guests. We have a lot of family and friends with older children who could use the pool.
I'm thinking a hall would be cheaper cause we don't have to worry about tents chairs and tables. I'm torn on where to have it! Any suggestions/imput would be helpful!

Re: 1st birthday help: hall or outside party
An outdoor party sounds nice, but it could get very hot at the end of July. As a guest I would prefer being inside an air conditioned hall. I also know that if I was at a big party with family I would definitely not be putting on a bathing suite, and then my DH would have to deal with my 2.5 and 1.5 year old in the pool. How many people are you planning to invite? It definitely could get crazy if you have lots of people at a pool party in your backyard.

It wouldn't be a pool party I thought I would offer if anyone wants to use the pool they could. You made a good point about the adults having to go in the pool with the kids, they may not want to. Humm going to have to rethink that idea!

I would usually choose the outside party, but with 100+ people it would probably be so much easier to just have it at a hall.

Re: 1st birthday help: hall or outside party
personally, I prefer hall parties in the summer. Heat and bugs always get to me
We did a hall for DD 1st Bday and it was so much easier

Re: 1st birthday help: hall or outside party
i LOVE outdoor parties.. but bc of the pool, i would opt for the hall.
DS is an Aug baby and DD is a July baby... we had DSs 1st party in the park, and DDs 1st birthday will be at the park as well.
but if i had to deal with a pool, i would NOT have it at the house, unless the pool was closed.. the liability is just too much for me to worry about. KWIM?

I would do it outside at home. I wish I coudl've done mine at home, It was a hasssle having it somewhere else. You'll be more comfortable at home.
