1st Birthday Party Locations? HELP!!

I am starting to think about where to have my DD's 1st bday on June. I know it is early...but June is a very busy month so I just want to decide on a venue.

We are looking at maybe 50 people (maybe more once we decide on place)....some kids (not many) a few infants and the rest adults.

I was looking for a resturant....I live in Nassau County.....not necessarily "kiddish" but not too formal either.

Any ideas???

Palmer's in Farmingdale (right on Hempstead Tpke) is REALLY nice. Beautiful party rooms and great food. There is place on Main St. in Farmingdale called La Cucia (I think that is what it is....near RR tracks) that also has a really nice party room and AWESOME food!! Both were very affordable. This sounds exactly like what my DDs bday was like.

We had her party at Louie's Oyster bar in Port Washington. It was phenomenal. We did a buffet to keep it casual. We had a water view private room, with doors leading ot the outside/dock area (so pretty for pics!). The food was awesome! Everyone raved. Oh and I got one entertainer from twinkletown to entertain the few kids in a corner of the room.

I also have cake store recs and balloon recs, etc if you need or want the info! fm me if you want to know more details

RVC: The Blackthorn or Monaghan's.

Connolly's in Malverne does catering.

Re: 1st Birthday Party Locations? HELP!!

I'm in Lynbrook also :o)

Had my DD's baptism last month at Berto's in Valley Stream - they pretty much gave us the whole restaurant and the food was great.

When we were married we had our rehearsal dinner at Angelina's in Lynbrook. They have a large private room and everything worked out well.

In the area I also looked at George Martin's Grill (RVC) - they have a private room upstairs, Umberto's in Elmont (they also have a larger catering hall aside from the restaurant), and Carmela's and Filomena's in Franklin Square. I would have happily had parties at any of those locations also.

In Malverne the Brick Cafe has a private party room and the people and service there are excellent.

Good luck!
