1st Birthday Question/Opinion Needed
Sorry this is a little long winded!!
I am having a planning dilemma and need your thoughts and ideas.
My dd will be 1 at the end of March. We are currently building a house which was supposed to be ready in March, but because we have encountered some delays due to the weather, I think end of April is probably a more accurate move in time. I had originally planned to have her party at home and have it be a combo bday/housewarming.
So I am now trying to think about when to have her party. Another thing to think about is my SIL is pregnant due at the end of April and I wouldn't want to plan a party for then with the possibility of her not being able to attend (she is very close with DD.) So this now brings me to a mid May date.
Is mid May too late to celebrate her 1st bday with her actual bday being March 27th? What do you think?
I do have another option and that would be to scale down and have a smaller 1st bday party at my parents house at the end of March, and then have a BBQ housewarming party over the summer. Also having the 1st bday party at a hall/restaurant is out of the budget at the moment and my small apartment isn't an option either.
If you read all of this I thank you! Any thoughts or other ideas on what to do are welcomed!!

Re: 1st Birthday Question/Opinion Needed
If it were me, I would scale down the 1st b-day party and do it at mom's, then have your housewarming bbq when the house is done...
Good luck with your decision and the house...post pics when it's done!!!

Re: 1st Birthday Question/Opinion Needed
I like the idea of having the smaller 1st B-Day party at your Mom's in March and having the house warming party in the summer.
2 parties are always better than 1

2 parties! they are separate events and should both be celebrated. if your dd was older she wouldn't want to wait. i wouldn't want to make her wait for her party now just b.c she dosent know the difference. also and this is probably me just begin anal, i wouldn't want to look back on pics/ videos etc out of order...ex her walking if she actually walked a month after her birthday.

Re: 1st Birthday Question/Opinion Needed
I agree, definitely the 2 parties as you mentioned. Smaller 1st b-day at your parents, warmer-weather housewarming. More reasons to party
