1st day of school without me today, felt so bad

Today Matteo had his first solo day at his playgroup. I said goodbye and he looked a little hesitant but was okay, then after a few minutes I heard him. He was so upset, hysterical, trying to get out of the room any way he could for about a half hour. Calmed down, had snack time fine, gym time fine, then music time he cried again and the teacher walked him around out of the room and read to him. Please tell me it gets better. I know other moms have said it will I just worry about him and it.

my little man!! It does get better! It's a whole new world for him and it will take hime time to adjust. The good thing is that he does settle down and participate. It's always harder on the mommy!

awww - poor Matteo. It is a huge adjustment for him - but it will get better. When I started jake in school they would have to pry him off of me - he would be hysterical. It took a few weeks but he got used to it and made new friends. Now this year he loves it - gives me a hug and kiss and walks in with his firends.

Just give it a little time - he will be fine. Trust me - it is harder on you than him.

Grace had a really rough time last week for her first day at preschool but when I dropped her off on Monday of this week, we just had a few tears and lip wobbling. She really does love it once she gets over one of us leaving.
