1st Dr. appt @ 4 weeks...

I was scheduled to go into OBGYN today about a month ago..so when I spoke to the officeand told them I got a positive hpt they just told me to keep the appt. anyway.. well.. I missed AF yesterday so that would make me 4 weeks .. They did a sono and didn't see anything.. I figured that they wouldn't b/c It was soo early. They are having me come back in 2 weeks.. I'm just a little nervous b/c I've had a m/c before... Have any of you went in @ 4 weeks and didn't see anything?? Also, have any of you had cramping in the beginning? Any input would be very appreciated.. Thank you

Did they do any blood work to check your beta? I didn't have a sono until 6 weeks, but had 2 positive betas before then.

They gave me the script for pregnancy bloodwork(remember all of those viles) but he told me to wait to go get it unitl I come back in 2 weeks.. I guess they just want to make sure and see something first.. I knew I wouldn't see anything but it just bothers me soo much... With my DD I went in @ 4 weeks and they also saw nothing.. I had to go back @ 6 weeks and she was there I still have that sono on my fridge and that was 05/07.. these next 2 weeks are just going to be tourture... It's been 10 months TTC and I just can't imagine not being able to continue this pregnancy.. I worry way too much

4 weeks is really early, and really your timing could be off too so I wouldn't worry...my doc won't see me till 8 weeks (and no betas). although I know how it feels after a loss to just want to know it's all ok. Hang in there!!!

i go to an RE and they earliest they will do a sono is after 5 weeks - preferably at 5 1/2 weeks.

At 4 weeks pregnant they only do bloodwork and repeat it 2 days later to make sure the beta is doubling

U can have ur ob run preliminary blood tests checking ur beta and progesterone.

my first apt was around 4 weeks as well & my doc didnt see anything either... he just said my uterus was soft and thick which is what happens when you are preggo

there have been a lot of threads on this topic where they didnt see anything as late as 6 weeks- my doctor doesnt even see patients until 7 weeks for this reason

I didnt have an appt until 8 weeks but I did have alot of AF like cramping in the beggining... its normal!

i had my first appt @ 4weeks and they saw nothing....all the doctor said was he saw the tiniest yolk sack. then 2 weeks later i went back and there was a bean and a heart beat.

I had a sono at 4 weeks and they didn't see anything. He did take blood to check my betas to see if they were doubling, I'm sure everything is ok. Keep us posted!

My Dr. made me wait until 9 weeks b/c they said they don't bother w/ a sono before that b/c a lot of the time you 'can't find anything' ..............

With one of my pregnancies I went in at 5 weeks and they didn't see anything, but at the following appt, we were able to see the heartbeat. I'm sure everything is fine and it is just too early.

I am sure everything is ok. I had my first sono at 6 weeks and they saw the heartbeat. B4 that, i had the bloodwork done twice.

I did have cramping. bad low cramping. I thought something was wrong.

My hand is raised. Same thing happened to me. I went at 4 weeks knowing I was only 4 weeks and all they saw was a really thick lining. They had me come back in a week and sure enough there was a little dot!! And throughout all of this I was cramping like as if AF was going to come!! I'm sure you will be fine!!

Cramping is normal. I could have sworn AF was coming. My first appt was at 5 weeks. All we saw was a yolk sac. Two weeks later - fetal pole and heartbeat.

I had my first appt at 4 weeks and the Dr. couldnt see anything either. They did a pg test which came up positive and took blood but she said it was just way to early to see anything!! I know youve waited a long time for this but try not to worry to much everything will be ok!!

i went at 5 weeks and saw just the sac...they did BETA on me and everything was good i went 1 week later and saw the sac and something so tiny but it was there another week later we saw the baby and heartbeat

When Cristie went for her appointment at about the same time as you....they didn't see anything....she became a nervous wreck!! Stay positive and happy...I'm sure everything will be fine!

4 weeks is wayyyy to early to see anything. I had my first at 5.5 weeks and saw a sac and yolk sac.
I'm actually surprised they did a sono that early.

youre very early. i wouldnt worry,it is hard to see anything at this time

with my daughter my period was a week late, so i guess i was 5 weeks...? anyhow, they did an ultrasound and saw nothing. she then did an internal ultrasound and say nothing again, then she checked the f.tubes to see if it was tubal pregnancy, again nothing was there.... and they told me i "might not even be pregnant", even though i got a BFP on a home test. that day they took blood work, and i went back a week later and he said i was preggo and my hcg levels were only 722, so i was very very early. But i did a sono a week after that...and we could see the baby and the h/b flickering.

i came in at 4 weeks only b/c i was moving out-of-state and i wanted to confirm the pg before having to search for another doctor. she didn't even bother to schedule me for blood tests or see anything on the screen--it's too tiny at that point to see it! i just did a clean-catch urine sample at that point to confirm and discussed some questions.
