1st dr appt after BFP
So i have a dr appt next Monday which puts me at 6 wks.
What should i expect? Do they do an internal?
When was your 1st appt and what did they do?

My first appt. they just confirmed the pregnancy with blood work, urine. I then went back at 8 weeks and had an internal sono.

sonogram MAYBE-internal one but it may be too early to see a heartbeat.

i went in at 7 weeks and they an ultrasound (vaginally  ) and we were able to see the heart beat.
they also took lots of bloodwork and a urine sample. fun stuff fun stuff!

My first appt. was at 8 weeks, so it may be a little different. For me, they took about 8 vials of blood, BP, weight and urine sample and a internal ultrasound, seeing the baby was so awesome

My 1st appointment they did an internal sonogram and saw the heartbeat.
I was almost 8 weeks when I went.
The dr will tell you the dos and donts and give you some prenatals.

I had some bleeding at 5.5 weeks so they did an ultrasound.
I believe normally they give you a blood test and urine test.

Ever doctor is different. My first appointment was basically an annual exam and the doctor sent me for bloodwork. I had a sono 2 weeks later.

Usually an OB won't do a sono so early but I started at the RE so I had one at 5w5d, 6w5d, and 7w5d. If you do have one it will be an internal and just so you know.......
At 5w5d - saw gestational sac
At 6w5d - saw HB
At 7w5d - heard HB
They will check your urine, blood pressure, weight, and probably have blood drawn too. Good luck!!!

Because I was seeing an RE, and also "interviewing" high risk OBGYNs, I had like 4 sonos before 10 weeks-- which is probably why I am in withdrawal right now.
At 5 weeks I saw the sac and a pole, no HB.
At about 6 weeks I saw the HB-- and all the other stuff that's supposed to be there.
I had another sono at like 8 weeks and I think 9... each time the "blob" getting a little bigger. By 12 weeks, from the profile-- it looked like a baby. Frontal view-- ALIEN.
My "first" appt was weird, because I was seeing an RE and I needed to change OBGYNs.. so, I had several blood tests and they weigh you, and just give you a packet of info.

Same here, my first appointment with my OB was at 10 weeks since I was with the RE until 8 weeks. My OB took down some medical history, urine, blood pressure, weight and about 8 vials of blood at my first visit.

At my first I was alittle over 5 wks and do for annual exam. They gave me info papers on the stages of pregnacies, check your weight and they confirm your preggo with a PG test. I didn't have my first sono until I was 7wks and that was an internal.
