1st internal...39 weeks
My Drs office doesn't do the first internal until 39 weeks...does that seem like really late?!?! I feel like everyone else is 35 or 36 weeks!

Im having my first internal on Friday...I'll be 38 weeks. I feel like its late too.... I just want to know if anything is going on down there.

I had mine at 36 weeks. But I wouldnt worry too much. Really there isnt much with the internal except to see if you are dilated. Coming from someone who never dilated, not knowing would have been better. Every week I was so excited only to have no progress.

Mine is going to be at 37 weeks. They always said 36 weeks but the way the scheduling worked out it is going to be at 37.
Don't you haver to get the group b strep test done before you deliver? 39 weeks might be cutting it close.

She might get the group b strep done at her next appointment...at my 36 week appointment I asked if I was getting an "internal" and they said no..but I got the step test (I guess because it's just a swab, it's not considered an internal).
I've had a few internals, because I was having a lot of Braxton-Hicks, and they were very uncomfortable, mildly painful. Then again, with my first pregnancy, the internals didn't feel like anything different than a regular. THis time around, I guess I am a lot more sensitive.

Mine starts at around 36 or 37 weeks. 39 does seem a bit late to me.

My first internal was supposed to be at 37 weeks, but I delivered a few days before that doctors appointment.

I have the strep B at my next appt!! But no internals until 39 weeks!! I just thought it was strange!!

My office doesn't start internals until 38 weeks and I thought that was late! I'm pretty sure I get the strep B test at my next appointment though (36 weeks).

Internals are not necessary...I had my first at 38 weeks. I would not worry about it
actually, next pregnancy, I am refusing internals all together
