The radiologist called me back saying I need to go back for a sono and additional pictures. From what I have read and heard this in normal...what is your experience......

Re: 1st time mammo results
Yes it is normal to be asked to have additional views taken - but they want you to come back? I have never been asked to do that. They never let me leave until they view the results while I'm there. I usually do a sono but I go with a script for that. I don't think I have done a mammo without having them ask me to come back into the room for additional shots or views. But they never have me get dressed until they have reviewed it first and determined that they got what they needed. Where did you have it done? I have gone to about 4 places and that is how they always have done it.

This is totally normal..... if your breasts are very dense the mammo isnt clear and a sono is needed....also many time a DR isnt there when the mammos are done and the tech misses something and you need to go back for more pics.....I wouldnt worry

Re: 1st time mammo results
I have been called back in several times. They probably just want to get more/better views. I have extremely dense breasts so I have a sono done too.
The whole thing is very stressful.

Re: 1st time mammo results
Totally normal - something like 90% of women get called back after their first mammo.
I just got called back after my first mammo and the whole point of the yearly mammo is to detect changes, so your base-line views need to be fantastic for the mammo to work as intended.
